Love Poem: A Temperance of Love

A Temperance of Love

Of the voices, I have heard, the sound of Silence,
 Is the loneliest, by far.
It is infinite, unending,
Yet, this gap can be bridged.
Love, Friendship, Happiness,
They each, can be a tether, a line,
Something to grasp.
These insurmountable things, uneventful as the one,
But together, combined, how resilient,
Is their effect.
Heavens and earth, Stars and sky,
Have known, there passion,
The World, has wept, for its pain.
It is such a wonder to know, a joy to behold,
Though simple in its complexity,
Whole in its entity.
In life we love, in life we share,
In life we give, in love we care.
Else, we falter, and we fail,
Loose the grasp and, then we wail.
How lost would I be, without her hand to guide me,
Her touch to show me, her smile to brighten my day.
Many do they number, the things I love of you,
Of which I have mentioned, but a few.
Yet with love in my heart, shall I face all things,
With the courage of Lions,
Tempered with the care of Angels,
This feeling, It is my Salvation,
This State, of Grace and elevation,
Beholds that, which my love , and I share.
