A Fallen Angel
“Our angel,” Mom and Dad declared
throughout their daughter’s early years.
When she revolted, tempers flared.
Mild punishment caused bitter tears.
She ran away! Her parents’ fears
engendered searches. They would find
their teenage runaway on crack.
Without judgmental words but kind
and loving hugs, they coaxed her back,
where proper treatment does not lack.
