Love Poem: A Dead Rose

A Dead Rose

A calm hue shed
the morning light
into confetti strewn,
across my path snubbed by my eyes
bemusing passers by.

My waking thoughts were doused in you
for heartache plagued this land.
A single rose bestowed on me,
I clenched dead in my hand.

When morning broke in melody,
I strained to hear its song.
Some countless notes greeted sky's birth
as deaf I walked along.

If pain consumes the human mind,
God’s light falls on blind eyes,
and heaven’s music all around
falls mute like final breath.
