Love Poem: A Boy Covered In Invisible Scars

A Boy Covered In Invisible Scars

Times our bodies were cold
The cigarette scars on your hand
We were still tugging the other to our own wishes
Our stubbornness getting in our way
They told me to stay away from you
Clear unacceptance in their eyes
I just wanted them to accept you,
To love you like I do
And what's more,
I only wanted to be with you

My hands were tied in autumn
A full revolve around the sun
I didn't know what to do
Fear was upon me, and I fleed
I ran, and ran, and ran
Never once thinking of my own faults or demise
But darling, aren't we all just running in our own
Small worlds?

And I set the wolves upon you
I was the unintentional shard of glass that
Caused you to bleed
But we both held on to our stubbornness
Like knives behind our backs
Holding crossed fingers in the other hand

You pulled me into an abyss
I didn't know where to set my foot on
I kept falling, falling and falling
You can't have expected me to stay
And I didn't think that I ended up leaving too

That I fell for someone
Covered in dreams and fantasy
Trying to stay alive in reality

A boy covered in invisible scars
That only lit up in the dark
A boy who only howls under the moon
Head in his hands, the shores at the sea
Searching what the lighthouse leads him to
For a home to stay in
Hang up the traveller's cloak
And finally have a good night's sleep
