Love Poem: A Blue Shadow

A Blue Shadow

these blues carry on a forgotten song
past the rusting groan of a broken gate
It’s written right there I did you no wrong
As the winds whistle an oh so lonesome tune
under an oak by the light of the full moon
The ground is all cold while I wait
Thickets and briars have now overgrown
Moving on past this shadowed flagstone
As the winds whistle an oh so lonesome tune
under an oak by the light of the full moon
No flowers on the grave and no one wept
on the stone it says I love you even now
somehow life goes on and people forget
as the winds whistle an oh so lonesome tune
under an oak by the light of the full moon
