Word: Hello

We all say hello, and too soon,
We say goodbye in a familiar tune.
If we must leave, will you remember me?

We learn many names over a year,
And we find people to hold dear.
If you find someone else, will I still be?

If it comes to the point where I love you,
Please remember me, or I won’t know what to do.
So when I wave to you, please wave back.

Train tracks click, airplanes fly in the air,
And life passes on without a care.
It’ll be a while, so take your time to pack.

I may be saying goodbye to you right now,
But will I be able to say hello? Will I know how?
So as we near take off, I wish you would stay.

Go forward and discover something new for me,
Then come back and tell me what you see.
Shine brightly like the stars many light years away.

Ships sail the sea, and rockets go to space,
Seeing such a beautiful sight makes your heart race.
“I’ll be home soon, sweetie, so wait for me.”

Loyally, faithfully, and with a smile on my face,
For if it’s you, nothing can replace.
As I hold you close, are those words in my memory?

“Hello! I love you!”
